How to delete your account and data

You can ask us to close your Express Wages account and delete your personal data at any time. Here's how it works.

How to make the request

Email support@expresswages.com from the email address on your account. Include:

  • Your full name
  • Your employer's name
  • The phone number on your account

Put "Delete my account" in the subject line so we can route it quickly.

If you can't access the email on your account, tell us that in your message. We'll verify your identity another way before making any changes.

What happens next

  1. We confirm it's you. We'll reply to verify your identity. This protects your account — we won't delete anything based on an unverified request.
  2. We check for open transfers. If you have a transfer that hasn't been repaid yet, we'll wait for it to settle before closing your account. We'll tell you the amount and the expected date.
  3. We close your account and delete your data. Once everything's settled, we'll close your account and delete your personal data. We'll email you when it's done. This takes up to [X] days from verification.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile information
  • Your linked bank account details
  • Your app activity and preferences

What we keep, and why

We're required to keep some records even after your account is closed — for example, transfer history we must retain under state and federal law. We keep only what the law requires, for only as long as it requires, and we don't use it for anything else.

A few things to know before you ask

  • Deletion is permanent. We can't restore your account or history afterward. If you're back with a participating employer later, you'd start fresh.
  • Your employer still holds its own records. Deleting your Express Wages data doesn't affect payroll or employment records your employer keeps.

Questions

If you're not sure whether you want to delete your account — maybe you just want to stop notifications, or unlink a bank account — email us at support@expresswages.com and tell us what you're trying to do. There may be a smaller change that gets you there.
